We’re thrilled to return for our 22nd year—bringing neighbors, families, and friends together for friendly competition, laughs, and lasting memories. All skill levels welcome to join the fun on the shoreline.

There is something for everyone at the St. Leo Fishing Derby, including food, kids activities, and much more. Come for a weekend of FUN, FAMILY, and FISHING!

Whoever is the lucky fisherman to catch Lucky Leo will get to keep the prize money! If Lucky Leo is not caught, the money goes to St. Leo School. Good luck!

The St. Leo Fishing Derby is all weekend, and we have a ton of fun things for all participants!

KIDS DERBY:

Don’t forget, we also have our Kids Derby again this year! Kids 15 and under can fish for free in a well-stocked area without registering.

Big Trout Contest
$5.00

Can you catch the longest tagged fish??? Sign up now and win more money! You may only sign up for Big Trout contest until the start of the derby on Saturday morning, so get registered now!

RULES:

All registered fishermen may also elect to participate in the Big Trout Contest. To be eligible, each participant must contribute an additional $5.00 prior to the start of the tournament. The qualified participant catching the largest tagged trout (2026 tags) will not only receive the sponsered amount for the trout caught, but will also recieve 50% of the funds collected for the Big Trout Contest. The trout must be checked into headquarters in live condition as determined by trounament judges. The winner will be determined by the length of the tagged trout. In the event of a tie, the proceeds will be split evenly among the winners.

There are 2 age groups available for the Big Trout Contest:

  • Adults 16 and Older

  • Youth 15 and Under

Youth Registration (15 and under)

We want to encourage youth and families to enjoy our trout derby. Participants 15 and under can purchase a Youth Registration and enjoy the Derby.

50/50 Fish
$5.00

RULES:

All registered fishermen may elect to buy into the 50/50 fish before the start of the derby to participate.

To be eligible, each participant must contribute an additional $5.00 prior to the start of the tournament. You can do this online prior to the Derby starting or at the check-in booth Saturday, May 9, 2026.

Cut off for 50/50 Fish purchase is when the Derby starts on Saturday morning.

The qualified participant that catched the tagged 50/50 trout will receive 50% of the funds collected. The trout must be checked into headquarters in live condition as determined by tournament judges. If caught by a non registered participant, then the amount of payout is $20.00.

Help us reach our fundraising goal by sponsoring a fish (or a few!). You can name them something fun, and if your fish is caught, that sponsorship money goes to the lucky fisherman!

Pre-Sale Chicken BBQ
$12.50

Enjoy a warm and filling Chicken BBQ meal to fuel your fishing! Pre-order yours online here. Chicken BBQ dinners can also be ordered on Saturday, May 9 but are subject to availability.

Dinners will be ready for pick-up between 11am - 2pm on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Ridgway Firemens Carnival Grounds.

No refunds.

Campsite
$25.00

We will be offering camping on the Ridgway Firemen's Grounds for the Fishing Derby. No electric or hookups available.

$25 per camper or tent and 1 car - this is for Friday thru Sunday.

CHECK-IN: Friday at 2pm at the Ridgway Carnival Grounds
CHECK-OUT: Sunday at 2pm
