General Information

  • Derby Location: Ridgway Fireman’s Grounds

  • Dates: May 9-10, 2026

  • Check-In Station: Ridgway Fireman’s Grounds

  • Entry Fee: $30.00. Purchase Registration here.

  • Derby times: Fishing starts Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 6 am-6 pm. Fishing will resume Sunday, May 10, 2026 from 6 am-2pm.

Badge Pickup

  • Ridgway Fireman’s Grounds starting Friday, May 8, 2026 from 2-8 pm.

  • Badges can also be picked up from the Check-In Station during the Derby.

When Does Fishing Start and End?

Entrants may begin fishing Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 6:00am and must stop fishing by 6:00pm. Fishing will resume on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at 6:00am and stop at 2:00pm.

Where Will Fish be Stocked?

Fish will be stocked starting at the stream that runs along Ridgway St. Marys road.

Rules

The St. Leo School Trout Derby is open to all fishermen of all ages and skills. Each participant must be properly registered and must display official tournament registration button. ALL SALES FINAL, no exceptions!

  • You MUST possess a valid Pennsylvania Fishing License and an Official Derby Registration Button. Children under the age of 15 do not need a Registration Button.

  • All PA Fish and Boat Commission rules apply. See Rules Here.

  • Fish must be presented at a check-in station in LIVE CONDITION as determined by tournament judges. This includes fish that may apply to the Big Trout Contest and the 50/50 trout.

  • Multiple fish may be brought at one time up to state limit.

  • All fish must be legally caught by a registered participants are eligible for prizes.

  • The participant that caught the fish must be present at check in, with registered badge or no check - in of fish will be permitted.

  • Any individual found in violation of the rules or un - sportsman like conduct will be disqualified, and may not participate in any future events.

  • Respect property owner's rights. Stay off posted lands and clean up after yourselves.

  • Sponsors of this tournament encourage catch and release so others may enjoy fishing in the area.

  • ALL fish MUST be legally and fairly caught. NO snagging or trot lines permitted.

  • St. Leo School Fishing Derby promotes conservation; we encourage catch and release of all fish.

  • LIVE Bait may be used.

  • Anyone suspected of cheating will be disqualified from the Derby.

  • Please OBEY PROPERITY OWNER’S RIGHT’S AT ALL TIMES.

  • Derby BUTTONS MUST BE VISABLE AT ALL TIMES.

  • Entrants may begin fishing at 6:00am Saturday May 9. NO FISH will be accepted AFTER 6:30pm on Saturday May 9.

  • Entrants may begin fishing at 6:00am on Sunday, May 10. NO FISH will be accepted AFTER 2:30pm on Sunday May 10.

  • ANY entrants fishing Prior to 6:00am on Saturday or Sunday WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

  • All judges and committee member decisions are final.
